Tea Horizon is a future-community design project addressing the climate-induced challenges faced by tea farmers in Sri Lanka’s Nuwara Eliya region, where rising temperatures and shifting rainfall patterns threaten tea yields, farmer incomes, and community sustainability. The proposal integrates aerial tea gardens, drone-assisted harvesting, smart irrigation, and digital management platforms to enhance ecological and economic resilience. Emphasizing cooperative frameworks, it introduces shared facilities and distributed production systems to strengthen farmers’ adaptive capacity and risk resistance. Beyond modernizing agricultural practices, the project envisions a sustainable livelihood and spatial model for climate-vulnerable regions, offering scalable solutions for similar contexts worldwide.
